The Pinehill Shopping Center was completed in December 1993 and sits on a seven acre commercial tract—12,000 square feet. An additional 11,544 square feet are set aside for future development. The development of the Shopping Center has served as a tremendous economic boost to the local community providing much needed basic goods and services that are now more easily accessible. As a result, the community can shop locally, without traveling to major border towns, thus preventing leakage of the Navajo dollar.
